TikTok has temporarily disabled its LIVE streaming feature in Nigeria during late-night hours, specifically from around 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., as part of a safety review to better protect users.

This restriction, aimed at tightening platform moderation, has significantly impacted Nigerian content creators who depend on LIVE streams for income through gifts and monetization.

Late-night slots often represent peak engagement times, and with the new ban, many creators are reporting losses in both revenue and audience interaction.

The move follows TikTok’s broader crackdown this year, which included removing millions of videos and thousands of LIVE sessions in Nigeria for guideline violations.

Creators are now seeking clarity on the duration of these restrictions and requesting guidance on how to adjust their streaming schedules without sacrificing earnings.

TikTok has not yet announced when the late-night LIVE feature will be reinstated, leaving creators uncertain about the future of their online livelihoods.
