Tinubu, Buhari mourn 40 auto-crash victims of Maulud

President Bola Tinubu and former president Muhammadu Buhari have sympathised with the members and leaders of the Tijjaniyya Movement over the death of 40 Maulud participants who died in an auto crash on Sunday, September 15.
The accident that claimed 40 lives and injured scores occurred when the victims were on their way from Kwandari in Plateau State to a Maulud Nabiy celebratory event in Saminaka, Kaduna State, lost their lives after their bus collided with a truck at Lere town of Kaduna State.
Tinubu in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga prayed for the repose of the departed souls.
The statement reads, “President Bola Tinubu has condoled with members and leaders of the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria over the death of 40 members killed in an auto crash on Sunday.
“President Tinubu condoled with the families of the dead and injured and with the governments of Kaduna and Plateau states. He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.
“The President directs the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) to improve highway monitoring and reduce the number of road accidents nationwide.”
The former president in his remark, signed by his chief media aide, Garba Shehu expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident and prayed for the speedy recovery of maimed victims.
He said, “I’m pained by the loss of many lives due to the road accident involving participants in the Maulud celebrations in Kaduna.
“My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I pray that the injured recover soon.”
