President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep concern and heartbreak over recent security crises in Nigeria, particularly the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the loss of Brigadier General Musa Uba along with other soldiers in Borno.

In a post on X, he stated, “I am heartbroken by the abduction of our daughters in Kebbi and the painful loss of Brigadier General Musa Uba and the brave soldiers who fell in Borno.

“Their families, and the families of the kidnapped schoolgirls, are in my prayers.”

The President, who also serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, emphasised his disappointment over the disruptive acts of terrorists and assured efforts to bring the abducted girls back.

He said, “I have directed the security agencies to act swiftly and bring the girls back to Kebbi State.”

Tinubu acknowledged the rising wave of violent extremism across Nigeria and called for community cooperation, stating, “Sharing information can save lives and protect our children.”

He also reaffirmed his commitment that those threatening national safety would face Nigeria’s full legal force, adding, “May God comfort the bereaved families. Those who threaten the safety of our citizens will face the full weight of the Nigerian state.”
