Tinubu hosts Ghana’s president in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has hosted Ghana’s president, John Dramani Mahama, on a courtesy visit at his official residence in the State House, Abuja.
Mahama, who arrived at the President’s residence around 2:30pm on Thursday, is visiting his Nigeria’s counterpart for the first time since his inauguration on January 7, 2025.
Their meeting, at it was gathered is expected to focus on bolstering diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Ghana, as well as discussing key regional issues within the Economic Community of West African States.
Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the visit in a brief statement on Thursday, sharing pictures of both leaders on his social media account.
He wrote, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the visiting President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday. Mahama came on a private visit.”
However, both leaders are expected to explore areas of mutual cooperation in trade, security, and economic development.
Recall that Mahama had paid a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at the State House on December 17, 2024, 10 days after his election as President.
He was declared winner on December 7.
