Tinubu hosts Sierra Leone President in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has received a courtesy visit from the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio.

Tinubu hosted his Sierra Leonean counterpart, at the State House in Abuja, on Monday.

This was made known via images shared by one of Tinubu’s Media Aide, Dada Olusegun, on Monday.

Sharing the images on social media, he wrote,  “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received a courtesy call from His Excellency, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, at the State today, 3rd March 2025.”

At the time of filing this report, the purpose of their meeting is yet to be unveiled.

However, Nigeria and Sierra Leone have recorded substantial relations since their respective independences in October 1960 and April 1961.

Meanwhile, both nations are active members of the Economic Community of West African States and the African Union, and have collaborated on initiatives aimed at promoting peace, stability, and development in the region.
