Ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as the Renewed Hope Ambassador, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga revealed in a statement on Tuesday.

In this capacity, Governor Uzodimma will also serve as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, entrusts Uzodimma with the responsibility of collaborating with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and governors to promote and evangelise the Tinubu administration’s agenda.

As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Uzodimma—who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum—will work to ensure “harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across all levels of the party,” while also mobilising and engaging citizens in support of government initiatives.

Governor Uzodimma will coordinate closely with other APC governors, who will serve as Ambassadors of Hope.

President Tinubu has tasked them with promoting the party’s “achievements and milestones since 2023,” thereby reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope nationwide.

Since taking office in May 2023, President Tinubu’s administration has pursued a reform agenda that is already showing significant economic progress. Inflation has eased for the seventh consecutive month, stabilising at 16.05% in October, while the exchange rate has remained steady. Foreign exchange reserves have climbed sharply from $4 billion in 2023 to over $46 billion this month.

Investor confidence is returning, reflected in increased foreign direct investment and portfolio inflows, particularly benefiting the oil and gas sector.

The Nigerian stock market is experiencing an unprecedented boom, and economic diversification efforts, including in solid minerals, are advancing.

The government’s liberal educational loan policy has supported over 700,000 students, and passport processing times have been reduced to less than one week.

In a directive to Governor Uzodimma, President Tinubu emphasised the importance of ensuring that Nigerians “are aware of and understand the administration’s achievements,” highlighting the Renewed Hope Ambassador’s vital role in communicating the government’s progress.
