President Bola Tinubu has formally forwarded Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro’s name to the Senate as a ministerial nominee representing Plateau State.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced the nomination in a statement on Tuesday.

The President’s letter calls for the Senate’s confirmation of Doro as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This nomination comes after Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, Plateau State’s previous minister, was elected chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.

Yilwatda had served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction before his party appointment.

Doro, born January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa LGA of Plateau State, brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both the UK and Nigeria.

His academic qualifications include degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA focused on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.

He is an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with frontline experience in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), working across urgent care, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospital settings.

Beyond his professional roles, Doro has led youth mentorship and social impact initiatives both in the diaspora and in Nigeria.
