Tinubu, Otedola celebrate Dangote’s birthday as Africa’s top entrepreneur

President Bola Tinubu and business magnate Femi Otedola have led tributes to Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man and Chairman of the Dangote Group, on his birthday Friday, April 10, 2026.

In a heartfelt message on X, Femi Otedola hailed Dangote as his “BESTIE,” writing, “Happy Birthday to my BESTIE @AlikoDangote, hands down the greatest entrepreneur to have come out of Africa. Wishing you many more years of good health, good market conditions, and continued success.”

President Tinubu extended warm felicitations to the renowned industrialist, describing him as “Africa’s leading industrialist, accomplished businessman.”

The President praised Dangote’s transformative impact, stating, “Aliko’s entrepreneurial vision, resilience, innovation, and commitment to excellence have transformed industries and positioned Nigeria as a hub for large-scale petrochemical and cement production through his establishment of the multi-billion-dollar Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company and cement factories across Africa.”

Tinubu highlighted the Dangote Group’s contributions to job creation and infrastructure, adding, “I salute Aliko for his conglomerate’s role in job creation, infrastructure development, and unwavering belief in the Nigerian economy and its potential.

“Dangote remains a shining example of African enterprise, whose achievements continue to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs across the continent.”

The President also commended Dangote’s philanthropy, noting, “I also applaud Aliko’s philanthropic efforts, particularly through the Dangote Foundation, which have significantly impacted lives in health, education, and poverty alleviation.”

Tinubu concluded with prayers for Dangote’s future, “As Aliko marks another year, I pray for his continued good health, wisdom, and greater accomplishments in service to Nigeria, Africa.”
