Tinubu praises Fene Osakwe for winning UK’s Cyber Personality of the Year awards

President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Fene Osakwe, who was honoured with the prestigious Cyber Personality of the Year award at the 2025 Cyber Security Awards in the United Kingdom.
Osakwe, the Chairman of the Lagos State Cybersecurity Advisory Board, made history by becoming the first African to win in this category.
He was recognised for his outstanding leadership, advocacy, and expertise in cybersecurity and data privacy, securing the award ahead of finalists from countries such as the United States, UAE, Qatar, the Netherlands, and the UK.
Tinubu in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, commended Osakwe for his significant contributions to the cybersecurity sector, emphasising his efforts to innovate and shape the future of the field.
The President hailed Osakwe as an exceptional Nigerian, noting that his achievement is a testament to the remarkable talent and innovation of Nigeria’s youth, who continue to set the pace on the global stage.

“Dr Osakwe is the chairman of the Lagos State Cybersecurity Advisory Board and the first African to win in the Cyber Security Awards category.
