Tinubu praises Jonathan’s statesmanship on 68th birthday

President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to former President Goodluck Jonathan on his 68th birthday, joining family, friends, and political allies to celebrate the milestone.
Highlighting Dr Jonathan’s leadership qualities, President Tinubu in a statement on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President Information & Strategy, said, “His simplicity and humility define his style of leadership,” further applauding Jonathan’s role in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
Reflecting on the 2015 presidential election, Tinubu noted, “His demonstration of statesmanship gave the nation a pride of place.”
The President recalled their past interactions, acknowledging the support Jonathan provided during his rise in politics: “Our meetings and counsel, especially around 2010 and the 2011 presidential election, were crucial.”
Tinubu also emphasised that Jonathan’s statesmanship continues to inspire many leaders, citing his ongoing international diplomatic work to promote democracy and democratic values in Africa.
In a concluding prayer of good wishes, Tinubu extended his hopes for the health and happiness of the former President, his wife Patience, and the entire Jonathan family.
