President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to national security amid recent violent incidents across Nigeria.
In a statement released on Sunday, after canceling his trip to the G20 summit in South Africa to focus on domestic security coordination, Tinubu praised the efforts of Nigerian security forces, declaring significant progress in rescue operations.
“Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued,” the President said, acknowledging a critical breakthrough in the recent wave of kidnappings.
He also announced the recovery of 51 out of the missing students from a Catholic school in Niger State, underscoring continued government efforts to restore safety in vulnerable areas.
“I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline,” Tinubu added, reiterating his personal involvement in addressing the crisis.
In a firm message to Nigerians, he declared: “I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety— and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.”
