Tinubu renames University of Maiduguri to Muhammadu Buhari University

In a landmark tribute to his predecessor, President Bola Tinubu has announced the renaming of the University of Maiduguri as Muhammadu Buhari University.

The announcement was made during a session of tributes by the Federal Executive Council to the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Confirming the development, Tinubu spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “President Tinubu renames University of Maiduguri as MUHAMMADU Buhari University. President Tinubu announced the honour at the session of tributes of the Federal Executive Council to his late predecessor.”
