President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria on Friday, at the State House Council Chambers, pending her confirmation by the Senate.
Kekere-Ekun succeeds Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired on Thursday, August 22, after a distinguished tenure.
During the ceremony, President Tinubu praised Ariwoola for his impactful leadership and contributions to Nigerian jurisprudence, wishing him well in retirement.
The appointment of Kekere-Ekun marks a significant transition in the judiciary as she grabs on the duties of leading the Supreme Court and maintaining the rule of law in Nigeria.
