Tinubu to commission Gateway Airport, new state airline, cargo facility in Ogun visit

President Bola Tinubu will oversee the commissioning of multiple aviation projects during his official visit to Ogun State on Saturday, including the highly anticipated Gateway International Airport, the launch of the state’s new airline, Gateway Air, and an associated cargo facility.
In an update posted on X on Friday, the Ogun State Government revealed the expanded scope of the president’s itinerary.
“The Gateway International Airport is not the only project to be commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his official visit to Ogun State on Saturday,” the government wrote.
“Mr. President will also commission Gateway Air, our new state airline, launching operations with two newly acquired aircraft to be managed by ValueJet, as well as the Cargo Facility.”
The announcement highlights Gateway Air’s imminent debut, with the two aircraft poised for takeoff under ValueJet’s management.
