The British Royal Family has announced that President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will undertake a high-profile State Visit to the United Kingdom next month.
The Royal Family shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty The King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from Wednesday, 18th March to Thursday, 19th March 2026.”
The visit will be hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at the iconic Windsor Castle, underscoring deepening diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth nations.
State Visits typically feature ceremonial welcomes, banquets, and discussions on trade, security, and climate issues—key areas of mutual interest given Nigeria’s role as Africa’s largest economy.
This marks a significant moment for bilateral engagement since King Charles ascended the throne, building on historical links from Nigeria’s colonial past and shared Commonwealth membership.
