Troops apprehend seven suspected terrorists, rescue 118 cows

‪The battalions of the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have apprehended seven suspected terrorists, recovered firearms and rescued 118 cows during the continuous efforts to maintain peace and security in Taraba State.‬

‪This was disclosed on Saturday by security expert, Zagazola Makama.‬

‪Makama stated that troops deployed at Kambari, acting on credible intelligence on suspected Bandits attacking a Fulani settlement in Katlong Village of Karim Lamido Local Government Area swiftly confronted the bandits who fled in chaos due to the heavy fire encounter with the troops.‬

‪He noted, “In a significant boost to the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in Taraba State, troops of 6 Brigade have apprehended seven suspected terrorists and recovered a cache of weapons in separate operations conducted across the state.‬

‪”On 7 August 2024, troops of 6 Brigade deployed at Kambari, acting on credible intelligence on suspected Bandits attacking a Fulani settlement in Katlong Village of Karim Lamido Local Government Area swiftly engaged the bandits who fled in disarray due to the heavy fire encounter with the troops.

“One suspected bandit named Yusuf Musa was arrested with 1 AK 47 rifle and 20 rounds of 7.62MM special ammunition. Also, 118 cows were recovered and handed over to the rightful owners.‬”

On Tuesday, July 30, Dailyeconomy reported that the troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/ Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke successfully neutralised a wanted notorious terrorist and recovered an AK 47rifle, ammunition and several other items following a fierce shooting contest in Taraba State.
