Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) held firm against fierce terrorist assaults late Friday, inflicting heavy losses on BHT/ISWAP fighters while dominating key fronts in Borno State.

In Pulka, a large terrorist group surged from Sambisa Forest, briefly breaching a perimeter and destroying some equipment.

Swift reinforcements from 26 Brigade unleashed overwhelming firepower, forcing a chaotic retreat.

“Credible intelligence indicates that the terrorists suffered severe casualties, including a senior commander identified as Abou Aisha who sustained a critical gunshot injury to the neck leading to his death,” stated Lt. Col. Sani Uba, OPHK Media Information Officer.

At Mandaragirau, ISWAP attackers on gun trucks and motorcycles hit in a multi-pronged assault, but pre-positioned troops repelled them decisively.

“Regrettably, some gallant personnel and Civilian Joint Task Force members paid the supreme price,” Lt. Col. Uba noted, with the injured airlifted to safety.

Follow-up ops uncovered blood trails, shallow graves, and abandoned gear near Kimba.

The Military High Command praised the troops’ “bravery, utmost professionalism and fighting spirit,” signalling terrorists’ desperation under pressure.

OPHK vows to dismantle networks and restore peace in the Northeast.
