In a decisive operation on the evening of June 30, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, alongside elements of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hybrid Forces (HF), successfully engaged and neutralised eight Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Manawaji, Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.

As obtained in a statement made available by the Nigerian Army on Tuesday, the joint fighting patrol encountered the terrorists at approximately 5:30 PM, resulting in a fierce firefight.

The troops demonstrated exceptional bravery and tactical skill, eliminating the insurgents without sustaining any casualties among themselves or their allied forces.

“Troops successfully attacked and eliminated 8 terrorists during the fierce firefight. Several weapons and ammunition of the dead and fleeing terrorists were also recovered. Own troops, CJTF and HF did not sustain any casualties. The general security situation in the area remains calm but fluid. Photographs of the neutralised terrorists and recovered items are attached,” the statement noted.
