Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Joint Task Force North East, have achieved a significant victory against Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State. On November 9, 2025, soldiers of the 135 Special Forces Battalion confronted terrorists at Dutse Kura after receiving intelligence about abductions along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.

This was revealed in a statement shared on Monday by the Nigerian Army via it official social media handle.

According to the statement, the troops successfully “thwarted the attack, pursued the terrorists towards Mangari, and overpowered them in a follow-up encounter near a camp, forcing the insurgents to flee in disarray.”

During a search of the terrorists’ camp, they rescued 86 kidnapped victims, including men, women, and children, and uncovered 11 makeshift terrorist structures.

Recovered weapons and equipment included “one AK-47 rifle, five magazines with 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts,” as well as civilian vehicles and motorcycles. The terrorists’ camp was destroyed after clearance operations.

In a related operation, troops in Mangada arrested 29 logistics suppliers heading to Chilaria with a large cache of supplies, including “about 1,000 litres of petrol in jerricans, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tyres, huge cache of medical consumables, and large quantities of foodstuffs and provisions.”

The military reported no casualties among their troops and praised the operation’s success, urging forces to “sustain operations to deny terrorists freedom of action across the North East theatre.”

The Nigerian Army commended the “gallantry and professionalism of the troops”.
