Troops neutralize Boko Haram commander in major offensive across Borno axis

In a decisive operation early this morning, June 9, 2025, troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched coordinated air and ground attacks on Boko Haram/ISWAP strongholds in Nzalgana, Gujba Local Government Area, and the Tumbuktu Triangle.
According to a terse statement obtained from Army on Monday, the offensive resulted in significant casualties among terrorists and the elimination of key leaders, including Ameer Malam Jidda, a top commander operating in Ngorgore and Malumti Villages.
Further successes were recorded in Abadam, where additional bodies of terrorists and a cache of weapons were recovered following recent military actions in Mallamfatori.
The statement notes, “In the early hours of today, June 9, 2025, troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched simultaneous air and ground attacks on Boko Haram/ISWAP strongholds in Nzalgana, Gujba LGA, and the Tumbuktu Triangle, resulting in significant casualties among terrorists and their leaders.
“Notably, Ameer Malam Jidda, a top commander in Ngorgore and Malumti Villages, was neutralized. Meanwhile, in Abadam, additional bodies of terrorists and seized weapons were recovered following the recent military operation in Mallamfatori.
