During Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address at the United Nations General Assembly, delegates from several countries staged a walkout, signaling deep international divisions over Israel’s policies.

The walkout occurred as Netanyahu outlined his stance on regional security and defended his government’s actions, particularly regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The delegates, representing a coalition of nations critical of Netanyahu’s policies, walked out in protest, citing disagreement with the Prime Minister’s rhetoric and what they described as a failure to address human rights concerns.

This marked one of the most visible displays of dissent during the annual UN gathering, highlighting ongoing tensions over Israel’s role in Middle East peace efforts.

Netanyahu, speaking to a packed assembly hall, emphasised Israel’s right to defend itself from terrorism and reiterated his commitment to Israel’s security.

However, several member states expressed that his speech lacked acknowledgment of Palestinian grievances and international calls for renewed negotiations.
