United Nigeria Airlines partners with Sabre to expand global reach

United Nigeria Airlines has signed its first global distribution agreement with Sabre Central and West Africa, a joint venture of Sabre Corporation, enabling travel agents worldwide to shop and book the airline’s fares and inventory through Sabre’s extensive travel marketplace.
Speaking on the development Mazi Osita Okonkwo, Executive Director/COO of United Nigeria Airlines, said, “Choosing Sabre marks a significant milestone in United Nigeria Airlines’ journey. For the first time, we are making our product available through a global travel marketplace, giving
us the opportunity to broaden our reach and connect with travellers around the world.”
He added, “This agreement supports our growth strategy, enhances our visibility, and enables travel agents globally to seamlessly shop and book our fares.”
In his remark, the Vice President of Airline Distribution, EMEA at Sabre, Alessandro Ciancimino, expressed the company’s commitment to helping airlines scale efficiently and serve modern travellers better, highlighting their pride in supporting United Nigeria Airlines in expanding their reach by joining the Sabre travel marketplace.

Joshua Olowo, President of Sabre Central and West Africa, underscored that the partnership aligns with Sabre’s goal to help local carriers reach broader markets, increase revenue, and improve traveller service through Sabre’s advanced technology.

However, since launching in 2021, United Nigeria Airlines has rapidly expanded domestically and is preparing to launch regional and international flights to destinations including the UK, USA, UAE, Johannesburg, Dakar, and Accra starting August 25, 2025.
This new distribution agreement enhances the airline’s sales strategy and commercial capabilities, positioning it for continued growth in Nigeria, West Africa, and beyond.
