US Election: Harris selects Minnesota Governor as running mate

The Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz as vice presidential running mate for the forthcoming presidential election.
Harris made the announcement on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, according to the United States popular International broadcast platform.
The announcement put an end to speculation over which candidate Harris would use to go up against the Republican nominee and former president, Donald Trump, and his choice for vice president, Ohio senator JD Vance.
Walz was born on April 6, 1964, in West Point, Nebraska; he’s the 41 Governor of Minnesota, having been first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019. He also has a background as a social studies teacher and a veteran of the Army National Guard.
The US presidential election is expected to be held on November 5, 2024.
