The United States has spent $3.7 billion on airstrikes against Iran in the first 100 hours of the conflict, burning through $891 million per day.
This was made known in a visualisation shared by Al Jazeera which highlighted a CSIS estimate.
The eye-watering costs stem largely from precision munitions, with Tomahawk cruise missiles accounting for 84% of expenses at a unit price of $3.6 million each.
A detailed breakdown shows $196 million allocated to operations — involving 200 fighter jets, warships, and artillery — $3.1 billion on 2,600 guided weapons, and $359 million in losses from three F-15 jets downed by friendly fire over Kuwait.
Only $178 million of the total draws from the Pentagon’s existing budget.
The remainder remains unfunded by Congress under the Trump administration, fueling heated debates over potential reallocations from social programs.
