VeryDarkMan apologises for wearing police uniform

Social media activist, Martins Otse well known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly apologised for wearing a police uniform without permission.
He dressed up in the uniform, claiming to be the Chief Superintendent Officer of the police’s online division, which didn’t sit well with the Nigerian Police.
Dailyeconomy reports that the Police in a statement on Saturday, October 26, accused him of impersonation and invited him for questioning.
VDM after honouring police invitation, apologised to the force, stating he hadn’t known about the CSP rank and didn’t intend to impersonate the police.
VeryDarkMan therefore advised the public to seek permission before using police or law enforcement uniforms, acknowledging that while some might use them for good, others might exploit them for nefarious purposes.
He wrote on social media, “Back from the police station where I was interrogated based on the post I made wearing a costume that the police claim is similar to theirs, l didn’t intend to impersonate the police in any way and I tender my unreserved apologies to the Nigeria police force and the office of the inspector general of police.
“I would like to use the medium to tell the general public to always seek permission from the police or other law enforcement agencies before using anything that might look like their uniform, you might want to use it for good but there are others that might want to use it for bad, so it’s good to get full approval before using anything that might seem impersonating @nigeriapoliceforce also shout out to my lawyer @adeyanjudeji who is always ready to stand.”
