Nigeria’s efforts to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will continue this month with key matches against Rwanda and South Africa.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a 23-man squad for these games, with in-form striker Victor Osimhen expected to lead the Super Eagles’ attack.
Osimhen has been crucial in the campaign thus far, scoring both goals in Nigeria’s sole victory over Rwanda in Kigali.
Currently, the Super Eagles find themselves six points behind Group C leaders South Africa after six matches, intensifying the pressure to gain maximum points and keep their qualification hopes alive.
Nigeria is set to host Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, September 6, before heading to Bloemfontein for a crucial clash against long-time rivals South Africa on September 9.
Additionally, a video shared on X by TVC confirms that 13 Super Eagles players have arrived in Akwa Ibom ahead of the match.
