Video: 33 suspects nabbed by Lagos Taskforce during late-night sweep

The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce, as part of its ongoing initiative to eliminate criminal elements, conducted a clean-up enforcement operation in the early hours of Wednesday.

Starting at approximately 1:30 a.m., the operation focused on critical areas of Lagos Island, including Victoria Island, Falomo Bridge, Ligali Ayorinde Street, Ikoyi, and various nearby streets recognised as hotspots for unwanted activities.
As stated in a statement by the Commissioner of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, 33 male suspects were apprehended during the operation.
The statement said, “In continuation of the agency’s clean up enforcement operation to rid the State of criminal elements, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce set out at about 1:30am on Wednesday, 28th May, 2025 and embarked on its ongoing clean up enforcement operation on the Island.
“The areas visited during the operation includes; Victoria Island, Falomo bridge, Ligali Ayorinde street, Ikoyi and other adjoining streets where the presence of some undesirable elements was noticed.
“During the raid exercise, a total number of 33 male suspects were arrested and sanity was restored in all the areas.
“All the Suspects will be charged to court accordingly.”
