The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has finally spoken out on the escalating military threat from American President Donald Trump regarding terrorism in Nigeria.

In a recent church program video, Adeboye advised President Bola Tinubu’s administration to handle the situation with urgency, diplomacy, and wisdom.

He urged, “My children, if I were asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to our Government, move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely. Find a way to convince the president of America to please delay his actions for about 100 days.”

Adeboye further called on Nigerian security forces, stating, “And then come home and say to our security chiefs: get rid of these terrorists within 90 days, or resign.”

This statement comes after President Trump designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” for an alleged genocide of Christians.

Trump warned that if Nigeria failed to end the killings swiftly, American aid could be cut off and US troops might be deployed to deal with “Islamist” terrorists.

The Nigerian government has firmly denied claims of religious persecution, emphasising that both Christians and Muslims suffer from the ongoing insecurity.
