Heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has attended the emotional funeral of his close friends Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif “Latz” Kevin Ayodele, at London Central Mosque and Hendon Cemetery, following their deaths in a tragic car crash Nigeria.
A video circulating online captures Joshua, visibly emotional in a black jacket, standing among mourners during the Islamic janaza prayer inside the mosque’s prayer hall.
The footage shows him gesturing solemnly amid a crowd of men in dark suits, with some attendees filming on phones.
The two 36-year-olds died when the 4×4 SUV carrying Joshua’s group, driven by chauffeur Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, slammed into a stationary truck due to alleged brake failure, Dailyeconomy reports.
Joshua had switched from the front passenger seat to the back just moments earlier at the driver’s request, escaping with minor injuries while witnessing the fatal aftermath.
The driver, charged with dangerous driving causing death, was granted bail after pleading not guilty.
Joshua mourned publicly on Instagram beforehand, calling the victims his “brothers” and posting “My brothers keeper” with family photos.
Despite his fame, Joshua kept a low profile at the service to honour his friends, though the leaked video has fueled backlash online for disrespecting such a private moment of loss.
