In a thrilling boxing match held on Friday night at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigerian street-hop star Habib Badmus alias Portable emerged victorious over fellow musician Speed Darlington by knocking him out in the first round.

Following the fight, Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy rewarded Portable with a generous gift of N20 million in recognition of his win.
Portable, known for his confident street style, had been preparing rigorously for the bout and had openly invited Burna Boy and his mother to witness the fight, accusing Speed Darlington of disrespect and disloyalty to Burna Boy.
He declared, “I have trained many people before; I will train myself. I’m from the streets. I am ready.
“Let Speed Darlington run before it’s too late! Uncle Burna Boy, I want to beat Speed Darlington; I hear say he no dey loyal to you. Please come and watch the match, help me bring mummy,” showcasing his determination and street pride.
Burna Boy’s generous gesture has sparked excitement among fans, highlighting the camaraderie within the Nigerian music scene despite ongoing rivalries.

It may be recalled that in 2024, Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of having an inappropriate connection with American rapper Diddy to secure his Grammy win.
Subsequently, Speed Darlington was arrested over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking against Burna Boy.
