Video: Classrooms collapse during WASSCE in Taraba amid storm, injuring several students

During a heavy downpour with strong winds on Wednesday evening, numerous students taking the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at Government Secondary School, Namnai, in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State narrowly escaped a disaster when their classrooms collapsed.

At the time of the incident, students, teachers, NYSC corps members, and external exam supervisors were still present on the school grounds.

Many individuals were reportedly trapped under the rubble until local residents arrived to assist in the rescue efforts.

Several students suffered injuries, including suspected fractures, and are currently receiving medical care at the Primary Healthcare Centre in the town.
