Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has directly challenged President Donald Trump, daring the United States to test Iran’s resolve in the region.
Ghalibaf dismissed reports of regime instability, insisting that key cities like Mashhad remain firmly under control.
Speaking defiantly, he rejected what he called “lies” about Iranian weakness, invoking the holy Imam Reza shrine as a symbol of enduring strength.
“Come and see how we will destroy all your positions in the region. Come and see how the defenders of Iran will burn you into America’s history,” he said.
The speech, delivered in Persian with strong rhetorical flair, comes as protests rock Iran and Trump administration rhetoric heats up over potential military responses to regional threats.
Ghalibaf labeled Trump “delusional,” vowing that Iran’s defenders stand ready.
“Don’t believe the lies you’re told. Mashhad did not fall. Iran’s defenders are present, and Imam Reza is present,” he added.
