Video: Court acquits Fayose of money laundering allegations

A Federal High Court in Lagos has found former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, not guilty of all charges related to the long-standing money laundering case filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The court supported Fayose’s no-case submission, determining that the prosecution did not present enough evidence to establish a prima facie case against him that would require a defense.

Fayose had faced trial on accusations of money laundering and fraud during his time as governor. However, after years of litigation, the court concluded that the evidence provided by the EFCC was inadequate to uphold the charges.
