The announcement was made by Abike Dabiri, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), as she shared her excitement via X on Thursday.

“Warm welcome in Calabar, Cross Rivers State as we get set to commission the Cross Rivers State Diaspora Commission (Cridcom) headed by a pioneer staff of @nidcom_gov, Mr Otu Okor,” Dabiri tweeted.

This new commission, launched just four months ago, marks Cross River as the first Nigerian state to formally set up a commission dedicated to its diaspora affairs.

The move signifies a strategic effort to deepen engagement between Cross River State and its citizens living abroad, fostering stronger economic, cultural, and developmental ties.
