A local resident known as Bright shared a video online showing that bolts and nuts securing the rail track had been removed, which poses a serious risk to public safety.

Bright urged authorities to investigate the issue promptly in order to prevent a potential disaster.

In response to the video, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, characterized the incident as “embarrassing” in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

He condemned the vandalism, emphasizing that there is no excuse for jeopardizing the lives of thousands for selfish reasons.

Edafe wrote, “We received this video with a sad taste. It’s embarrassing, and one would wonder why someone would do this. No justification for putting thousands of lives at risk just for personal and selfish gain. This is sad.”
