Veteran Nigerian singer, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has proved to be false the rumours of his death, confirming that he is alive, healthy and in good spirits after the false news of his death, which emerged on Monday, rapidly spread across social media, sparking a wave of premature condolences from fans and well-wishers.

In a video on Tuesday, the 83-year-old musician was joyful and full of life as he addressed the faux claims with a spirited musical performance.
The veteran singer who was seen singing in the video could be heard saying, “Hello, my name is Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi. Satan, you don lose o, Satan, you don lose o, you don pafuka. Na lie lie you dey talk, you don pafuka.
“It is fake news that started a few hours ago claiming that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed on to glory. It is a lie. I am alive, and that is not the word Jesus has written.”
