Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Wale Edun, made a notable stop at the O’DA Art Gallery booth during the 1-54 London Art Fair on Wednesday, underscoring the creative industry’s vital role in boosting investment, innovation, and economic diversification.
Edun shared a moment of reflection in a video, saying, “So got a few days of rest. Can’t stay on top of the house to enjoy this beautiful exhibition. Understand this only for a few days.”
Gallery workers responded warmly, “Yes, that’s right. Fixed your eye and your soul.”
In reply, Edun expressed his appreciation, “Thank you very much. Exactly, you know, I’m happy to see Nigerian artists on display, telling their story to the world, and especially our young artists in particular. So it’s a real pleasure to be here, and thank you for all that you’re doing wonderful. We also happy in that view. I support Nigerian artists as well in our galleries.”
