The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced the successful recovery of funds rightfully due to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
In a collaborative effort with the NDDC, these recovered funds have been channelled into the establishment of the Renewed Hope Multipurpose Training Centre located in Otuokpoti, Bayelsa State.
The centre according to a statement from the anti-graft agency is designed to empower local communities, with a special focus on youth development, providing skills and opportunities to foster growth and transformation in the region.
The EFCC emphasized that this project exemplifies true accountability and expressed gratitude to the Official NDDC for maintaining public trust throughout the process.
The statement says, “The EFCC recovered funds that were rightfully due to the NDDC. In partnership, those funds have now been transformed into the Renewed Hope Multipurpose Training Centre in Otuokpoti, Bayelsa State — a project that empowers the people, especially the youth.
“This is what accountability looks like.”
While appreciating the NDDC, the agency reaffirmed its commitment to fighting corruption not only to uphold justice but to drive meaningful transformation across Nigeria.
“Thank you to @OfficialNDDC for keeping the trust. We will continue to fight corruption, not just for justice, but for transformation,” the statement concluded.
