On Monday, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) shut down Wadata Plaza, the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), due to the party’s failure to pay ground rent that has accumulated over the past 25 years.

This enforcement action was taken after the FCTA reported that the PDP had ignored multiple notices, leading the agency to take firm measures to recover outstanding debts.
This action follows the FCTA’s announcement on Sunday regarding its plans to reclaim properties involved in the revocation of 4,794 land titles, which were affected by non-payment of ground rent for periods ranging from 10 to 43 years.
