NSCDC spokesperson Afolabi Babawale confirmed the tragic incident on Saturday.

Social media footage circulating online captures the harrowing moment during what appeared to be a show-of-force drill.

The video shows the officer being knocked down and crushed by the vehicle as it made a sharp turn.

The patrol vehicle came to a halt moments later, allowing colleagues and bystanders to rush in, lift it, and extract her from underneath.

Emergency responders arrived soon after and rushed her to medical care, but she did not survive.

Babawale expressed condolences and outlined the Corps’ response.

“It is true we lost a personnel during the simulation exercise. Our senior officers are on their way to the residence of the deceased to pay our condolences,” he said.
