Video: FG hasn’t given us promised $100,000 WAFCON bonus — Falcons captain

Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade has confirmed that the Federal Government has not yet paid the Super Falcons the promised $100,000 for their historic victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Ajibade revealed this in a recent interview with #WithChude.

The outstanding payment, intended to reward the Super Falcons for their outstanding performance, has become a flashpoint in the ongoing conversation about equal recognition for Nigerian women in sports.

While Ajibade expressed hope that the payment would be made soon, she disclosed that as soon as the money is paid, the public would be aware.

She said, “We haven’t received the $100,000 promised by the government. Even our March bonuses is still a work in progress.

“But hopefully they’ll pay it soon. As soon as it’s being paid, you’ll see it.”
