Emergency responders, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), are on site conducting rescue operations to save survivors, Dailyeconomy reports.

Eyewitnesses who spoke with Dailyeconomy described the building as a “bomb waiting to explode,” bringing out concerns over its structural integrity prior to the collapse.

Earlier reports from similar incidents in Lagos reveal a recurring pattern of building collapses due to poor construction and regulatory lapses.

So far, at least four deaths have been confirmed in recent Lagos building collapses, with several others injured and rescued from debris in related incidents.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collapse and have deployed heavy-duty equipment to aid in rescue efforts.
