The 127-kilometre route, infamous for frequent traffic jams due to construction and heavy vehicle flow, became the unlikely stage for a lively open-air concert.
Videos circulating on X captured drivers and passengers stepping out of their cars to dance, sing, and play music from their car speakers.
One popular clip posted by user Hon_Jesugbemi, captioned “Yesterday on Lagos Ibadan express way. See proper concert,” amassed over 238,000 views and 4,000 likes.
One motorist described the scene, “What could have been a day lost to frustration quickly turned into a moment of shared joy. Everyone just let go, danced, and enjoyed the music—it felt like a street festival in the middle of the highway.”
This spontaneous turn of events highlights the resilience and creativity of Lagos commuters in turning challenging moments into memorable experiences.
