Customers, some arriving as early as 6 a.m., said the scarcity has persisted for several days, forcing many to travel long distances in search of gas.
One customer, Matthew, revealed that he came all the way from Ayobo after hearing that Gasland still had supplies.
“I came from Ayobo side. There’s no gas selling there. People told me this place still sells, so I thought I’d come, get what I want, and leave. But when I got here, the queue was nothing to write about. My wife already told me not to come home without gas. I don’t even know—maybe 4 p.m. I can go back home,” he lamented.
According to him, the price of refilling gas has surged sharply.
“People say it’s ₦1,200 per kg here. Some places sell as high as ₦2,500, but this place is the cheapest,” he added.
Residents along the LASU–Igando corridor have called on the government to urgently intervene to stabilise supply and curb the rising prices, as the ongoing shortage continues to affect households and small businesses.
