The helicopter went off radar shortly after departing Accra en route to Obuasi in the Ashanti region on Wednesday morning, with all onboard confirmed dead.
In response to the national tragedy, Ghana’s President John Mahama’s Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has ordered flags across the country to be flown at half-staff to honor the victims’ service.
The President has also canceled official activities for the day as the nation mourns its losses.
However, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
