In a viral video circulating online, ousted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured on camera being led handcuffed through the DEA’s New York Division offices, casually bidding “Goodnight and Happy New Year” to off-camera bystanders.

The footage, filmed shortly after his January 3 arrival following a U.S.-led military strike in Caracas, shows Maduro—dressed in a black jacket, pants, and hat—flanked by agents in tactical gear.

The blue carpet underfoot bears “DEA NYD” and “Rule of Law” in yellow.

He and wife Cilia Flores were then transported to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, facing 2020 indictments for narco-terrorism, drug trafficking conspiracy, and corruption.
