United States President Trump has responded to former President Barack Obama’s recent podcast comments on extraterrestrial life, accusing him of mishandling classified information.
The back-and-forth kicked off when a reporter pressed Trump on Obama’s February 2026 podcast remark, where the former president noted aliens are “statistically likely” given the universe’s vastness but stressed “no evidence of contact emerged during his presidency,” Dailyeconomy reports.
Trump dodged questions on alien existence but zeroed in on protocol.
“Well, he (Obama) gave classified information. He’s not supposed to be doing that,” Trump said.
When pressed further—“So aliens are real?”—he replied, “Well, I don’t know if they’re real or not. He made a big mistake. He took it out of classified information.”
The exchange turned playful as Trump quipped, “I may get him out of trouble by declassifying,” hinting at his presidential powers. It wrapped with reporter banter: “We know illegal aliens are real.” Trump shot back, “Yeah, illegal, only illegals.”
