In an interview on Friday Amorim jokenly said, “He was offering me a new contract.”
He continued, “And no, it’s it’s normal things, just to show the support, explaining that is a long project, he said many times, this is my first season.”
He emphasised that the discussion involved reviewing team data with key members, stating, “Spoke with, with him, with Omar, with Jason, just trying to see all the data around the team. So a normal meeting, and we had several, but in this moment, it’s normal.”
Addressing the pressure at one of the world’s most demanding clubs, Amorim noted, “This is football in this is the club with more pressure, maybe in the world, but we want to win.”
Reflecting on the team’s progress compared to last season, he added, “I think last year, I was a lot of very critical of the way we play. I think we are playing well until the boxes defending and attacking.
“We need to be more aggressive in the boxes we did. We need to be more clinical. I think we are improving and comparing to last year I think we are in a better place.”
However, he was clear on the importance of results stressing, “We lost against Arsenal and we lost against City. And here, losing, especially in the beginning, after last season is a problem.”
