Video: Hezbollah dismisses Netanyahu assassination threat

Hezbollah deputy leader, Naim Qassem has brushed off Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reported assassination threats, invoking a prophecy foretelling Israel’s downfall after 80 years.
“I heard yesterday that Netanyahu is threatening to assassinate me—your threat means nothing,” Qassem noted in the address, captured in a widely circulated video clip.
He added, “they say when 80 years pass, the Israeli kingdom will collapse. Now it’s been 78 – maybe they have two years left,” referencing the 1948 founding of Israel.
The rhetoric comes as Israel-Hezbollah clashes intensify along the Lebanon border in early 2026.
Israeli media reports indicate the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted airstrikes on over 200 targets linked to Iran in Lebanon, underscoring the ongoing proxy conflict fueled by Tehran’s support for the militant group.
