Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that Nigerian chef Hilda Baci cooked the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing an impressive 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz). The record-breaking effort, which took nine hours of cooking fueled by 1,200 kilograms of gas, produced about 16,600 plates of jollof rice.

Guinness praised Baci’s teamwork and dedication in a statement posted on their social media account, marking her return to the record books after previous notable accomplishments.

Guinness World Records wrote while posting the video from the event on X, “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”

Baci described the achievement as being “served with joy, love and community,” highlighting her ongoing mission to promote Nigerian cuisine globally and inspire pride in African food culture.
